- Their most famous caboose was also one of their
oldest. No. 10 was the site that the Brotherhood
of Railroad Trainmen can trace its history back
to 1883, when 8 trainmen met in the caboose
and decided to form the Brotherhood of Railroad
Brakemen. The little car didn't even have
a cupola and is said to be typical
of the cabooses built in the 1860's.
It was preserved in a park in Oneonta, NY in 1924.
