The Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis class of cars built in 1923 by American Car & Foundry became in effect the ACF standard flat, although similar prototypes date back earlier. Richard Hendrickson had an article in the June 1993 Railmodel Journal which showed several prototypes.
Canadian National
- The CN owned the biggest
fleet of these flats, and they dated back to 1912.
