Club member Dick Hosmer has long been interested in track, as at one point he worked on the New York Central. Show him a dramatic picture, prototype or model, of a locomotive thundering down the main, a symphony of smoke and steam silhouetted against a stunning sunset, and he'll comment first on the condition of the track. He'll notice the 15th tie plate is skewed.
