The rotary snowplow was invented in 1886. According to the Oct. '78 MR, the Leslie Brothers of Paterson, NY made 64 units, starting in 1887, before the company was taken over by Alco in 1904. Alco made 71 more by 1937, when production ceased, except for four made by Lima-Hamiliton under Alco license in '48, the prototype of the Athearn model.
