This design is clearly derived from the USRA twin. The body was deepened between the trucks to gain volume, hence the fishbelly profile. Anthracite roads such as the Reading, Delaware & Hudson, Lehigh Valley, Central of New Jersey, and Norfolk & Western received similar cars in the late `30's and into the `40's, and the Baltimore & Ohio leased some from the CNJ circa 1950.
