Loco manufacturing meanly meant iron and steel manufacturing. Rolling stock and street cars, at least at first, mostly meant wood manufacting.
Locos
- American Locomotive Works, also known as Alco, had their main plant in Schenectady, NY, on the banks of the Mohawk River. (Alco was a merger of a number of loco manufacturers and at first, all the facilities remained open.)
