Overview

Victorian buildings were built on narrow but long lots, and over the years, got porches, additions, and additions on top of additions. These ramshackle backs are not really related to the front. The front might be built in a particular style, and may be a retail outlet with store windows on the first floor, or just a residence, but the back additions sort of grow "like Topsy". (Okay, more "like Tipsy"!)
